Support for tablets (like iPad)

We made a little update on dancebook for tablet users. There was a problem why they had no chance to log in with that devices. We fixed that problem.

Just the dancebook registration is still only available on "normal" Computers because of some security reasons. After the registration on a PC you can use dancebook also on your tablet now.

It's done - the brand new version of dancebook is after a half year of working finally finished. We used some brand new technologies so we are up-to-date again.

New features und changes in overview:

Unneeded features: We removed some unneeded features.

Newsletter and email optik: We changed the look of emails and newsletters.

Personal Competitionresults and -achievements: It is now possible that the linked person (partner) has the result on this profile too. Both (the creator and the linked partner) can edit and delete it.

RSS-Feed: There is a RSS feed for dancebook news.

Re-Design: A brand new simpler and updated design.

Announcement System: It is now possible for a competition admin to add foreign couples to the starting list.

Community-Interactions: We updated all community interactions to get faster und easier. For example, if you want to write a comment you don't need to wait for loading the whole page anymore - after submiting the comment ist shown on the correct place.

Performance: Everythng is faster because of new technologies and a brand new server!!

Public Area: Till now it was only possible for registered dancebook users to see the page. We changed that. Unregistered users can now see some pages too: News, Events, Competitions and the Dancing Partner-Search.

Security: We updated security algorithms and used some nice technologies to secure your data better.

Automatic Newsletter: In each newsletter you will now find latest news, next events, next competitions and last results at the end.

E-Mail Settings: You will get only emails in your selected language. No emails with german and english anymore!

Organizers: You can now add Organizers to events and competitions. If you have a club in the system you can choose it and dancebook will automatically set a link to your club.

XML list of couples: There is a new possibility to download the starting list of a competition in XML format (for the new ÖRRV Competition-Programm).

Some small problems :-)

In the new version there are some problems we want to tell you.

Internet Explorer: You need Version 7 or higher to use dancebook. Older versions are not supporting our used technologies. If you use IE6 or lower you will get a message and can't use dancebook.

Special Signs: While installing the new version we had some troubles with special signs (like austrian äöü or slowak čáó). If you find some mistakes here please tell us!

JavaScript: We need JavaScript on dancebook. If it is deactivated you will get the message to activate it.

Double Competitionresults: We changed the system, that linked partner has now the entry of the competitionresult on his page too (see above). There might be now double entries if both partners added the same competition. Please check that and delete double entries.

If you find some mistake or error please tell us! We made a lot of tests but mistakes can happen easily!

World Championships Boogie-Woogie 2011

The world Championships in Boogie Woogie were hold on August, 21th in Stuttgart (Germany). There were two austrian couples in main class with the following results:

In junior class there were no austrian couples. But in senior class was an "half" austrian couple which danced into the final:

This weekend is full of action again!

An Austrian Boogie Cup Turnier takes place in Spillern this saturday where you can see the best boogie dancers of austria. More information here.

The Boogie Woogie and Rock`n`Roll world championships formation classes take place in Munich on saturday. More information (including starting list and announcement) here.

New dancebook version online!

It's done! Again we made a big update on dancebook. The biggest change is the new updated design, but also in the background we worked a lot - dancebook is now faster, better and more stable!

At the picture on the right side you can see, that the Internet Explorer doesn't render the page 100% correct. Some corners are not round. If you use any state of the art browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari,..) the corners are rendered correct!

We also added some small missed features like:

• you can now see all members of you club,
• you can now cancel competitions,
• every pinnwall is now bigger and more seeable,
• there is a new page for friend-requests,
• and a lot more!

Club-Section online!

Today, we successfully added the new club-section! You now have the possibility to add your club to our system. After your registration a admin checks your sent information and activates your club.

In the club-section you can add couples & formations and you can register them to competitions. Dancebook users can become member of your club. Every club has a forum where all members can communicate. There is also a small rights-system where a member can get "couple-rights". If a member get's this rights he is allowed to add and manage couples & formations and is allowed to register couples & formations at competitions.

We hope you enjoy our new club-section and hope that we will get some feedback!

New design for the Home-Site | New poll-function

We just updated our new designed Home-Site. It is not only for our news anymore, it changed to an overview-page for the activities at dancebook.

We also added a new feature: the poll-function. You can find it on the right side of our new home-site. You can start with our first poll "Do you like our new news-page?". In future we will use this function to collect your opinions about different topics.

Competition page update

We just updated our competition page:

1. now there is the possibility to add categories with classes. This improves the overview and is needed for our new "clubs"-page.

2. there is a new filter-function on the competition page which allows you filter competitions by country or dance. Just try it!

It's done! We finished our translation and the english version of dancebook is finally online. You can find it at

You can also browse to dancebook.at or dancebook.de and switch the language to English (scroll down to the end of the page and click on "English").

We are proud to present you the brand new dancebook! It got a new design and some new key features. You can now send and get private messages, you can find and create events and you can search for a new dancing-partner in our new dance-partner categorie.

We are sorry, that our web-page is still not available in english, but with the new version we added a multi-language system. We are working very hard on finishing the translations.
